To Do: Self-identification

There are people who hate labels and there are people, like me, who love them. I love labels because they make things easy. Labels help me distinguish between Paprika and Cayenne, they also help me navigate trough society.

There are hipsters, geeks, queers, jocks, barbies, hippies, etc...There are also moms, princesses, intellectuals, corporate types, good girls, bad girls, artsy folks and crazy people. There are ethnic labels, sex or race labels and although it tends to suck for those who get discriminated against because of these, they still exist and some people embrace them.

To Do : Major Projects 101

Nowadays, time and money are both hard to find. Taking those 180$ for your Spanish I class at the YMCA might seem like a big expense for some, others are putting off quitting smoking until they have a plan on how to manage cravings while other people simply have no time to think about the things they would like to do.

So, excuse me if you find the following comparison stupid, but to me, working on those kind of goals is a little like having children. Yeah, according to my mother and mother-in-law, there is never a good time for having children, one will never have enough time, never enough money, one will never be completely ready for the inexplicable phenomenon of becoming a parent and growing up with your kid. Yet people keep having children and even more shocking, they seem to be having fun at raising them.

DONE: Skiing and the slow discovery of one's true self.

This blog entry has been written about 20 times in my head. I swear I've been thinking about this post for at least a week and a half and somehow every time I get in front of the computer to type it out, I get writer's block.

You see dear reader, this following sentence I wrote twice and, twice I erased it. I was very unsure the language I was using was proper English. Because I speak Spanish and French, I oftentimes use quirky expressions and although sometimes it sounds endearing, I get the impression that on written form it looks plain stupid.
