To Do : Major Projects 101

Nowadays, time and money are both hard to find. Taking those 180$ for your Spanish I class at the YMCA might seem like a big expense for some, others are putting off quitting smoking until they have a plan on how to manage cravings while other people simply have no time to think about the things they would like to do.

So, excuse me if you find the following comparison stupid, but to me, working on those kind of goals is a little like having children. Yeah, according to my mother and mother-in-law, there is never a good time for having children, one will never have enough time, never enough money, one will never be completely ready for the inexplicable phenomenon of becoming a parent and growing up with your kid. Yet people keep having children and even more shocking, they seem to be having fun at raising them.

I guess my mother trying to ask for a grand-child in a not so subtle way, turned into a reflection on those projects of mine that were my babies and that I had left behind because of money, time and whatever reason I could think of at the time.

Going back to university to get my undergraduate degree was a hard decision to make, it was something I had been pondering for, literally, years. Friends are sick and tired of hearing me whine about how I should go to university. This year I finally said yes to sleepless nights writing essays, early mornings printing projects and juggling the demands of full time studies with the needs of full time revenue.

At 27 I have invented myself even more reasons not to continue this pursuit:
-I'm too old
-Who knows what will happen to my career after such a long break from the market?
-I'm too old
-Is a degree really worth all that sacrifice?
-I'm too old and embarrassed to be older than the teacher assistants.

I have no lack of reasons why I should jump of a bridge instead of going back to university, yet here I am, working on that Bachelor's degree, crossing my fingers and hoping I'll have fun in the process.

P.S: My poor family tried to get a grand-child from me... now they'll have to wait at least 3 years for me to finish school, now you know how to get something from me: REVERSE PSYCOLOGY!
